Restaurants Near Lake Travis

From lakefront happy hours to Hill Country BBQ, there’s no shortage of great dining near the North Shore. Here’s where our guests eat.

Lakeside & Waterfront

• Captain Pete’s Boathouse (Point Venture, formerly Gnarly Gar): a floating restaurant and bar at the Point Venture marina. Frozen drinks, seafood, and a pier where children feed the giant catfish. Reachable by car or boat.
• The Lighthouse Restaurant & Lounge (Briarcliff): scratch-kitchen brunch, lunch and dinner just above Briarcliff Marina, with its own boat dock. It sits across the lake, so it is easiest to reach by boat.
• Beachside Billy’s at Volente Beach (Volente, about 30 minutes): burgers, steaks and Tex-Mex on the east end of the lake, with live music on Friday and Saturday nights from March through September.
• Canyon Grille (Rough Hollow, Lakeway): a lake-view restaurant in the Rough Hollow community on the south shore, now serving a seasonal farm-to-table menu.
• The Oasis on Lake Travis (Austin side): the famous multi-level cliffside deck. Come for the sunset more than the food.
• Wild Hare (The Hollows Resort): the on-site resort restaurant at The Hollows Beach Club, open in summer plus select off-season days. Rental guests are welcome; no alcohol may be brought into the Beach Club, but drinks are for sale here.

Jonestown & Cedar Park

• Solstice Coffee + Cocktails (Jonestown, on FM 1431): craft coffee by day and cocktails at night, plus beer, pizza and live music. Open from 8 AM daily.
• Lago Vista (about 15 minutes west on FM 1431): the closest cluster of everyday restaurants and groceries, around the Lago Vista shopping centers near Lohman Ford Road.
• Cedar Park (about 20 minutes east): a full range of chain and local restaurants along FM 1431 and US 183.

Austin (about 45 min)

Austin offers world-class dining. Notable picks for day-trip dinners:

• Uchiko: acclaimed Japanese-inspired cuisine on North Lamar.
• Franklin Barbecue: The benchmark Texas BBQ experience (arrive early).
• La Barbecue: East Austin smoked meats, shorter waits than Franklin.
• Odd Duck: Farm-to-table and creative Texas cuisine, South Lamar.

Marble Falls (about 45 min)

• Bluebonnet Cafe: Legendary Texas diner. Go for breakfast.
• Horseshoe Bay Resort restaurants: Multiple dining options on Lake LBJ.
